A 75-minute Yin Yoga class that focuses on slowing down the body and the mind through a moving meditation that invites you to look within and connect with your Highest Self’s needs. We already lead such yang-centric lives, it’s important to also nourish our more feminine Yin side to maintain the proper balance of Qi (life force energy) within the body.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that interweaves the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles of yoga. Instead of holding for three to five breaths, we hold each pose for three to five minutes. This allows our muscles to relax and for our bodies to bring new energy and nourishment to the Yin tissues of the body, which include the joints, ligaments, tendons, and bones. As we work into these deeper tissues, we also activate various meridian lines, allowing the body to naturally flush out any blocked or stagnant Qi along the meridians, as well as replenish and balance any deficient or excess Qi that may be in the body. This unique form of yoga acts not only to detoxify and strengthen the body but also brings the mind into a tranquil meditative state allowing us to connect deeper with our inner Buddha-nature.

Benefits of Yin Yoga

  • Calms and balances the mind and body.
  • Reduces stress and anxiety.
  • Increases circulation.
  • Improves flexibility.
  • Releases fascia and improves joint mobility.
  • Balances the internal organs and improves the flow of Qi or prana.
