Our Alfalfa Fermented Plant Extract is a liquid fertilizer formulated to:

  • enhance plant growth,
  • as well as, promote diversity in the soil,
  • and strengthen the plant’s immune response.

It is fermented with lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and molasses to break down the plant fibers. This makes the nutrients and beneficial properties the alfalfa contains readily available for your garden plants. Therefore, when you apply the fermented plant extract by spraying the foliage or drenching the soil, the plants can uptake it immediately.

Why Alfalfa Fermented Plant Extract?

Choosing to make an alfalfa ferment came out of a need to get plants more nitrogen organically than we currently could. Through the fermentation process, we are able to extract this vital nutrient from alfalfa along with many other vital nutrients. This makes it readily available for plants in the garden as we water it in, or foliar spray the plants. Plus, with alfalfa’s ability to stimulate plant’s immune systems, we get not only powerful plant growth, but strong immune systems to withstand any pathogens or pests.

Benefits of Alfalfa

Alfalfa aids plant growth and vigor in a number of ways, some of which include:

  • A good source of nitrogen to aid in plant growth.
  • Within alfalfa is a substance called triacontanol. It is a hormone that stimulates plants to grow better roots and increase photosynthesis. This leads to stronger and larger plants.
  • Additionally, triacontanol stimulates the growth of plant roots, enhances photosynthesis, and increases beneficial microbes. This helps to suppress many soil-borne diseases.

Love the product but hate the bottles! It is impossible to pour without spillage which is expensive and stinky. Please source better bottle for pouring.

FAQs

How do I apply?

Ferments should be applied as a soil drench or a foliar spray. 2-6oz per gallon as a drench and 1-4oz per gallon if being used as a foliar.

What is the shelf life?

Ferments should be used within 6 months of being made. We do believe the product will function well after that time but it may not be as active.

Can I add this to compost tea?

Yes, you can add this to a compost tea or other nutrient-based tea, but should be added during the last few hours of the brew.

What’s in this product?

Our Alfalfa fermentation contains only organic alfalfa, organic molasses, water, and lactic acid bacteria.

How often should I use this?

Our ferments can be used as often as you see fit. Typically, we try to apply at least once per week.

When should I use this?

You can use both ferments from start to finish. The alfalfa doesn’t need to be restricted to being used only during veg, as we see a lot of benefit from feeding it in flower as well. Some data suggests fermentations can lead to greater terpene expression so we highly advise using these throughout the flowering cycle.

Can I foliar spray with this product?

You can absolutely foliar spray this product. We do suggest a lower dose to start and you should be aware the ferments don’t always smell the best. Keep this in mind as to not upset your spouse. :)
