FAQs

How do I apply to a toothbrush?

We recommend wetting your toothbrush and then placing a small amount of tooth powder in the lid to dip your toothbrush in. This helps avoid moisture getting into the container.

Do I need essential oils?

You can add essential oils like peppermint or spearmint if you would like. However, the tooth powder does taste like cinnamon and clove on its own.

What kind of toothbrush is best with tooth powder?

We find a high-speed electric toothbrush to be best when using tooth powder, but you can use any toothbrush you’d like.

Is this safe for children?

Yes, this is safe for children. Avoid swallowing large amounts of the powder.

Can the tooth powder be used as a pact on the gums?

Yes, you can apply a pact to an area of your mouth that needs additional care. To do so, place a small amount of tooth powder in a bowl and add water to form a paste that can then be placed on the tooth or gum area you’d like nourished with minerals.

Is Remineralizing Tooth Powder safe for people with sensitive teeth/gums?

For people with sensitive teeth, the tooth powder should be safe.

For those with sensitive gums, we suggest adding a step prior to brushing your teeth with tooth powder, which will enhance the health of your gums. To start, you will need a soft bristle brush, neem oil, and tea tree, peppermint, clove, or cardamom essential oil. Dip the toothbrush in the neem oil, add one drop of essential oil on top of the neem oil. Begin to massage your gums in a downward motion towards your teeth. Continue this all around the mouth including the gums on both sides of your teeth. Feel free to go around the entire mouth multiple times. When done, brush your teeth using the tooth powder as described.

Does Remineralizing Tooth Powder contain any artificial flavoring?

No, only natural ingredients are used in the making of our tooth powder.

Is Remineralizing Tooth Powder available in any other flavors (besides original clove + cinnamon), or unflavored?

No, it is not. If you would like to add flavor to it, we suggest adding one drop-off essential oil. Some suggestions include peppermint, spearmint, cardamom, or tea tree essential oils.

Can I use Remineralizing Tooth Powder to brush my pets’ teeth as well?

Yes, you can use our tooth powder to brush your pets’ teeth.

What should I do if Remineralizing Tooth Powder is ingested?

If only a small amount is ingested (less than 2 tablespoons), remain hydrated as you may experience an upset stomach. If more than this is ingested, please contact your healthcare provider.

Why should I use Remineralizing Tooth Powder instead of regular commercial toothpaste?

  1. It's what our ancestors used! Tooth powder dates back thousands of years to the Ancient Egyptians, Chinese & Romans! It wasn't until the 19th century that toothpaste was formulated.
  2. No fluoride in tooth powder. Yay to keeping the pineal gland healthy & avoiding so many other health problems from excessive amounts of fluoride!
  3. Made with natural ingredients you can trust (& pronounce) instead of parabens, aspartame, triclosan, & many other yucky chemicals often found in commercially sold toothpaste!
  4. A number of studies have found that tooth powder is statistically superior to toothpaste in controlling dental plaque and gingivitis. (PMID: 28862466)
  5. Ingredients in tooth powder have been found to aid in remineralizing teeth, as well as decreasing enamel sensitivity, such as calcium carbonate and montmorillonite clay.
  6. Montmorillonite clay binds to heavy metals to safely remove them from the body. These heavy metals can be found in mercury fillings.
  7. Clove + cinnamon are anti-inflammatory & anti-fungal, thus helping treat sore gums and remove any pathogens that may be present in the oral cavity.
