What grain is used?

We use 100% organic millet in our sterilized grain bags with an injection port.

Should I clean my grain bag before injecting it?

Yes, you should wipe down the filter batch with rubbing alcohol to ensure there are no contaminants on the outside of the bag before injecting it with liquid culture or spores.

Do mushroom spores come with this product?

Spores are not included with this product and must be purchased separately.

What mushrooms can I start using this product?

Manure-loving mushrooms will perform best in our bags, but you can inoculate any spores you’d like in these bags, so long as you place the myceliated grain on the proper substrate for fruiting (i.e. wood or manure).

Is this an all-in-one grow product?

No, this is not an all-in-one grow product. This product allows you to form mycelium, which can then be placed on substrate to fruit mushrooms. The substrate must be purchased separately.

How do I fruit my mushrooms after the grain bag is myceliated?

You will need to purchase sterilized substrate, or make your own substrate to fruit the mushrooms. Once you have the substrate, you will add the grain to the substrate and allow the substrate to become fully myceliated.
