Our Insect Frass Fermented Extract is a liquid fertilizer formulated to

  • stimulate life in your soil,
  • promote high-quality buds,
  • and enhance crop growth organically.

It is fermented using lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and molasses to effectively break down the insect frass fibers. This allows for the nutrients and beneficial properties of the insect frass to be readily available. Therefore, when you apply the fermented extract by spraying the foliage or drenching the soil, the plants can uptake it immediately.

Why Insect Frass Fermented Extract?

Deciding to start fermenting insect frass was a logical progression of events for us. We already loved using insect frass as a top dress for its many benefits. However, we wanted those benefits to reach the plant more rapidly. Thus, we decided to formulate a fermented plant extract. Once we started to use it, we began seeing the same benefits as we did with a regular top dress. Plus, even more, due to the life added into the soil from the lactobacillus and bifidobacterium in the ferment!

Benefits of Insect Frass

Insect frass offers a wide variety of benefits. When fermented, these benefits are readily available for your garden to enjoy. Some of the benefits include:

  • A balanced profile of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium (3-2-3).
  • One of the only sources of chitin. Chitin acts to strengthen plant cell walls and build their immune systems to protect against various pathogens.
  • Contains the microbes from the guts of the insects.

This is top secret, missing link, skunk ape, CIA Level soil to DANKNESS! Every strain I’ve grown the last year indoor and outdoor since adding 60ml/gallon clean water bubbled overnight add rootwise every 2 weeks plants pray so much even in the Okla 100°+ temps. I blast mine with this up to last 2 weeks. I’m just a old country boy home grower since Ok went medical in 2018. Nothing locally at the overpriced dispensaries was helping my low back pain and neuropathy like what we’d smuggle back from Trinidad, Co. Raised on a family beef cattle ranch and degree in Ag from Ok state I started growing my own wtrio??? My wife got a bad hand got diagnosed with non alcoholic liver failure, slow miserable death wout a transplant which she got in 2021. I spent many days in OKC while she was in the hospital sometimes a month at a time. I found Redbud soil company and that became my happy place I go to. Former owner Chris and main hand Larry convinced me to switch to 100% organic. Hell I got 5th run redbud still killing it. It all gets help from frass, Kashi, Kashi bloom, grow cal, alfalfa, horse nettle, wetting agent, pumpkin and peach ferment. I make all my own ferments for veg my own labs.

FAQs

How do I apply?

Ferments should be applied as a soil drench or a foliar spray. 2-6oz per gallon as a drench and 1-4oz per gallon if being used as a foliar.

What is the shelf life?

Both ferments should be used within 6 months of being made. We do believe the product will function well after that time but it may not be as active.

Can I add this to compost tea?

Yes, you can add this to a compost tea or other nutrient-based tea, but should be added during the last few hours of the brew.

What’s in this product?

Our insect frass fermentation only contains organic insect frass, organic molasses, water, and lactic acid bacteria.

How often should I use this?

Our ferments can be used as often as you see fit. Typically, we try to apply at least once per week.

When should I use this?

You can use both ferments from start to finish. The alfalfa doesn’t need to be restricted to being used only during veg, as we see a lot of benefit from feeding it in flower as well. Some data suggests fermentations can lead to greater terpene expression so we highly advise using these throughout the flowering cycle.

Can I foliar spray with this product?

You can absolutely foliar spray this product. We do suggest a lower dose to start and you should be aware the ferments don’t always smell the best. Keep this in mind as to not upset your spouse. :)
