We’ve been searching long and hard for a calcium25 replacement. The wait is finally over! Grow-Cal is derived from non-synthetic calcium chloride and is amino acid chelated with no EDTA chelators used at all. This means it is safe for microbes. We believe multiple sources of calcium create the best results when considering immediate and long term needs. Grow-Cal should be applied as a foliar application. A drench is possible but a soil test is recommended prior to doing so.

Due to the chelation, when used as a drench, Grow-Cal may also help with the availability of other forms of calcium. Calcium carbonate is one of the most abundant sources of calcium but it does take time to become bioavailable. Grow-Cal may increase the rate at which calcium carbonate and other forms, become plant available. Again, we highly recommend soil testing prior to applying Grow Cal to the soil due to possible chloride excesses.

*This product is approved for use through the NOP program when dictated by a sap or soil test.

Can apply to the soil and plant foliage of all varieties of turfgrass, fruits, vegetables, trees, shrubs, lawns, flowers, and houseplants.

Why Use Grow-Cal?

At its core, ideal plant development is dependent upon maintaining the right balance of several key minerals. One such mineral is calcium. Just as humans require calcium to build strong bones, plants require calcium to build strong roots and stems (or “plant bones”, if you will).

However, it can be difficult to maintain adequate calcium levels for your crops while also maintaining an environment that supports and encourages beneficial microbial life. Most commercial calcium additives are derived from synthetic sources and/or chelated with EDTA, neither of which is conducive to the growth of beneficial microorganisms or organic growing practices. This is where Grow-Cal is different. Grow-Cal is made from non-synthetic calcium chloride and chelated with amino acids, making it friendly to microbes while still delivering the calcium your plants need to thrive.

Additional Benefits of Grow-Cal

Plants perform best when receiving calcium from multiple sources. Calcium carbonate is the form of calcium that is most naturally abundant in soil. While calcium carbonate is a plentiful form of calcium, it takes time to become bioavailable, or able to be absorbed and used by the plants. Not only is Grow-Cal one efficient source of calcium when used as a foliar spray, but due to the fact, that the calcium is chelated with amino acids, when used as a drench it may also help your plants to absorb other forms of calcium more efficiently, as well. We advise always performing a soil or sap test prior to using Grow-Cal as a drench, in order to monitor chloride levels.

Application Rate:

Shake well before each use. Apply Grow-Cal in the early morning or evening while there is still dew on the plant. Avoid applying Grow-Cal in direct sunlight when temperatures exceed 86ºF (30ºC). Apply with high nitrogen amino acid products like Pure Protein Dry for even better results.

Foliar Spray: Dilute 2 oz of Grow-Cal per 1 gallon of water and mist evenly onto plant foliage every 3 to 4 weeks. *Water as usual

Derived From: Non-synthetic Calcium Chloride. Soluble Calcium: 10%

Love the product but hate the bottles! It is impossible to pour without spillage which is expensive and stinky. Please source better bottle for pouring.

FAQs

How should I apply this product?

Grow Cal should be applied as a foliar spray.

When should I use this product?

Grow Cal can be used during all stages of growth. For cannabis, we recommend no longer using it after about week 4 of flower.

What is the product shelf life?

Two years.

I’d like to use this as a soil drench. Is this possible?

It is possible to use Grow Cal as a soil drench, but you need to know where your soil's chloride levels are prior to doing so. This would require a soil test. If chloride levels are low and calcium is needed, this may be a good option.

Why do you want a soil test done prior to using as a soil drench?

Chloride levels must be monitored if using this product as a drench.

Is Grow-Cal organic?

Calcium chloride is a naturally occurring, mined substance. It is possible to use this product on a certified organic farm as long as calcium is needed based on soil and/or SAP analysis.
